Not Tied to a Single Brand
Whether it is a domestic property or a commercial setting, we will have the right floor for it. Our team will talk you through the differences that matter, which are rarely the ones highlighted on a brochure, and narrow the choice down to something manageable. We also supply and install vinyl flooring and carpets for customers across Preston.

Why Choose Banks Flooring Solutions
The first thing we ask anyone considering LVT is which design they have in mind, and there is a practical reason for that. LVT comes in a genuinely vast number of designs, all bringing something different to the table, and once you add the range of colours and shades on top it becomes easy to be overwhelmed by choice rather than helped by it.
Arriving with a rough direction lets our team narrow things down quickly to a manageable set of options. If you are struggling for ideas, Pinterest and Instagram are worth a look, and our own Instagram shows work we have carried out that may point you somewhere. Better still, come into the showroom and see the four main design patterns in person alongside the colours available. Our team is here to guide you towards a floor that works rather than simply selling you one.
TRUSTED MANUFACTURERS

Every range we supply comes from a manufacturer with a proven record in commercial environments, with the technical data and warranties a specification requires.

Amtico Flooring in Preston
Amtico stands as a hallmark of quality and innovation in luxury vinyl tile, renowned for durability, versatility and aesthetic appeal. The product is built from multiple layers of heat compressed vinyl, which makes each tile or plank structurally robust as well as visually convincing, and gives it genuine resistance to scratches, scuffs and stains. That combination is what makes it suitable for high traffic areas in both residential and commercial settings rather than only one or the other.
The other advantage is versatility of design. The range covers styles, patterns and finishes that let homeowners and designers create bespoke interiors reflecting their own taste, whether that is the warm rustic character of wood, the cool sophistication of stone, or something more modern and abstract. Being able to mimic natural materials this closely means you get the look of hardwood or stone without the maintenance that comes with them.

DESIGN PATTERNS
Four Ways to Lay Luxury Vinyl
The pattern changes how a room reads as much as the plank does. All four are on display in our showroom. Select one to see how it works and where it suits.

Straight lay, the pattern most people know
Perhaps the most commonly known pattern out there, and there is no surprise at its popularity. It is simple, plain and effective. Straight lay suits all interiors and does not make a room look too cluttered or busy, which is why it remains the safe choice in the majority of projects we take on.

luxury vinyl tiles questions
Frequently Asked Questions.
LVT raises a different set of questions to carpet or sheet vinyl, particularly around laying patterns, durability and how it compares with the natural materials it imitates. The questions we are asked most often are covered here. If your project raises something we have not addressed, get in touch and we will give you a straight answer.
Still have a question?
Call our flooring team or visit the showroom in Farington, Leyland.
Call 01772 436686Appearance is where they meet and maintenance is where they part company. LVT is built from multiple layers of heat compressed vinyl, which gives it structural robustness alongside resistance to scratches, scuffs and stains that natural materials simply do not have. Wood needs sealing and refinishing, stone can be cold underfoot and unforgiving of anything dropped on it, and both react badly to moisture. LVT delivers the same visual character without those conditions attached. For a busy household or a commercial floor taking daily wear, that difference is the reason it gets specified in the first place.
It depends more on the room than on personal preference. Straight lay suits almost any interior and keeps a space looking clean rather than busy, which makes it the safe choice in most cases. Herringbone is the most popular pattern at the moment but works against you in a small room, because it makes the space read as smaller than it is. Diagonal is worth considering if you want a room to appear wider or longer, since the direction of the lay influences which. Brick bond sits somewhere in the middle, simple to execute with a fifty per cent offset creating the effect. All four are on display in our showroom.
Yes, and those are two of the most common places we fit it. LVT handles moisture far better than wood or laminate, and its resistance to staining means spills in a kitchen are not the problem they would be on a natural surface. Bathrooms suit it for the same reason. It is worth saying that a bathroom or wet room with standing water present regularly may be better served by sheet vinyl, which is welded into a fully impervious surface. Our team will tell you which applies to your space rather than defaulting to whichever product is in front of them.
Installation is the main difference. LVT is a glue down product fitted by our team, which gives the most secure and seamless result and is what we would specify for commercial work or larger domestic areas. Luxury vinyl click uses a locking system that requires no special skills or tools, making it a realistic option for a DIY installation. Click is newer to the market and has not reached the popularity LVT enjoys, but it is durable, convenient and water resistant, and it is the more affordable of the two. Which one suits comes down to who is fitting it and what the space demands.
Yes. We provide a complete measuring, preparation, supply and installation service for luxury vinyl tiles. Correct subfloor preparation and accurate setting out are essential to a clean, durable finish, particularly with herringbone and diagonal patterns. Using one team for specification and fitting also gives you a single point of responsibility from quotation to completion.
It helps enormously. LVT comes in an enormous number of designs before you even reach the colours and shades available, and arriving with no starting point tends to be overwhelming rather than useful. Having a rough sense of the look you are after lets one of our team narrow things down quickly. Pinterest and Instagram are good sources if you are stuck, and our own Instagram shows work we have completed which may give you a direction. Once you are in the showroom you can see the four main design patterns in person, which tells you far more than a photograph will.
